What PermitPrice cannot do: PermitPrice cannot submit permit applications, quote official permit costs, provide engineering advice, or act on behalf of a building department. Only your local building department can quote your specific application.

Submit a correction by email

If you prefer to skip the form, send a prefilled correction email. Include:

  • PermitPrice page URL (e.g. /virginia/fairfax-county/).
  • Jurisdiction the correction applies to.
  • Project type (deck, pool, addition, alteration, shed, garage, fence, demolition, other).
  • The specific incorrect figure or formula on PermitPrice.
  • Official source URL or PDF that supports the correction.
  • Effective date on the official source.
  • Building-department contact if known, so we can verify.

Request coverage

PermitPrice prioritizes coverage requests that include a working source. Send a prefilled coverage request with:

  • Official fee schedule URL for the jurisdiction.
  • Permit department website or main contact page.
  • State or region and jurisdiction name.
  • Common residential project types you want priced.

What to expect

  • PermitPrice is a one-person editorial operation, run by Munib Ur Rehman.
  • Source-backed corrections with a citation are prioritized and usually applied within a few business days.
  • There is no guaranteed response time. Press deadlines are accommodated when possible.
  • We cannot help with permit applications, code interpretation, plan review, contractor recommendations, tax advice, legal advice, or engineering advice.

Privacy of submitted information

  • Your email client handles sending the message. PermitPrice does not run a backend on this page.
  • The form does not store, log, or transmit form data on its own. Nothing is saved on PermitPrice servers.
  • Once you send the email, the message is delivered through your email provider, not through PermitPrice.
  • Do not include sensitive personal data, account passwords, payment details, or confidential legal documents in messages to PermitPrice.
